Is a bridal portrait important?
A formal bridal portrait is an heirloom to be treasured for generations to come. This carefully crafted portrait is much more than just a photograph of you in your wedding gown; it is a work of art starring you — and your dress!
Bridal portraits are generally taken two to three months before the wedding, so that there is time to have a completed portrait on display at your reception.
A bridal portrait session also allows for a special experience between you and the special someone that you choose to come along with you. It’s amazing how often you will see a mom cry when she sees her daughter posing for the camera that first time. The experience can be very emotional for moms, sisters and even best friends when they are part of your bridal session portraiture. And when there is emotion, there is beauty in your portrait.
One of the last reasons to get your bridal portrait done, is because it gives us an opportunity to get to know you and your dress better. In addition, it is the time to really figure how your hair and makeup look best. As photographers we ask ourselves, what is the best way to get the“perfect” shot of you and your dress.
